Gitanjali Foundation New is a non-profit-making charitable trust established in 2017, operating in the district of Birbhum, West Bengal (PIN 731103). It is an associated trust of Gitanjali Foundation, sharing its founding vision of education, health and social security for all.
The trust is duly registered on the NGO Darpan portal of NITI Aayog and holds registrations under Section 12A and Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961 — meaning the trust’s income is applied wholly to charitable purposes, and donations made to it are eligible for tax deduction in the hands of the donor.
Four educational institutions operate under the trust, spanning teacher education, nursing and pharmacy. Alongside these, the Foundation runs continuous community welfare programmes — health camps, relief distribution, support to elderly persons, and women’s empowerment initiatives — each recorded in a public welfare register.
The Foundation is not registered under FCRA and therefore does not receive foreign contributions. Its funding model rests on domestic philanthropy and corporate CSR partnerships under the Companies Act, 2013.
